Welcome to the TAP Room. Here, we coordinate the work of making freedom possible—together. Explore resources, stay connected, and remember: You don’t owe survival your silence.
At The Asylum Project, we are committed to creating real, reachable pathways to safety, sanctuary, and self-determination for U.S. citizens facing systemic oppression—especially those who are LGBTQ+, BIPOC, or disabled.
Through direct support, education, and community-powered relocation efforts, we help people not only survive—but reclaim the right to thrive.
Asylum Project is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit in the state of Oregon.
From infrastructure to outreach, every document we finalize and every connection we make strengthens the path to safety we’re building together.
📚 60+ policies drafted, revised, and organized into a true living library — a foundation built for protection, clarity, and dignity
🤝 Volunteer & Staff onboarding tools expanded — agreements, expectations, safety protocols, and support resources that honor the humans who serve this mission
🗓️ November Board Meeting success — three new board members seated, new Chair and Secretary elected, and our governance structure finally taking shape
🌏 International partnerships & global research underway — exploring safe-relocation pathways with allies who believe, like we do, that safety is a human right
💡 Crossing Points and Paths Forward — now publishing regularly, keeping our community informed, empowered, and seen
🧭 Executive business cards & digital contact system launched — clear roles, updated emails, and streamlined communication for staff, volunteers, and external partners
📁 Public access folders, bylaws, policies, and meeting minutes updated — transparency put into action
✨ New volunteers stepping into key roles — grant writing, digital outreach, executive admin support, resource research, and more
Together, we’re not just building exits.
We’re building a way forward — one open door, one brave step, one community at a time.
We may be small, but our purpose is anything but. Each project here represents a piece of safety taking shape—policies written, systems built, stories shared, and lives made steadier.
See something that calls to you?
